Documentation and Storytelling

My work involves combining documentary photography with the art of storytelling.  I record everything in my surroundings in order to find inspiration.  My tales often have an aspect of truth to them to reflect the honesty of the photographs.

The photography I am showing is a collection of images that not only shows my journey down to the beach, but also the natural flow of the water and the direction it takes when returning to the sea.  My documentation focuses on interiors as well as exteriors. My aim is to capture as much detail as possible to use as a reference to make the best stories to accompany them.  I try to gain as much from my surroundings as I can, by either collecting information that seems important or by making notes on conversations involving myself and those around me.
