Self-portraiture has become the main focus of work, nude self-portraiture in particular. Combining my passion for studying the female form and using myself as the model enables me to create images that begin to inform the audience of the intentions behind my work.

What intrigues me about my own nude self-portraiture is the way in which I have pre-defined expectations regarding the responses that an audience may have towards my body. These expectations are heavily influenced by the way in which I view the bodies of people around me. I pay attention to the tiniest detail when observing another human body and have convinced myself that this is the way in which I too am observed. I feel agitated, tense, frightened, paranoid, and intensely uncomfortable when I show my work to an audience, and yet something inside of me forces me to continue showing them. Along side the unpleasant emotional potency of my images I also experience a sense of liberation and excitement. I enjoy making myself feel uncomfortable.

My body and my camera combined allow me to explore my self and to begin to demonstrate to an audience the relationship I have with my body and the influence my body has upon my character.
