EMMA DAFFIN

In 1839 the invention of two distinct photographic processes, the Daguerreotype by Louis-Jacques-Mande Daguerre and the negative/positive process by William Fox Talbot brought desire to give photography an essence and then to sketch an eidetic science of the photograph, the difficulty in existing moments. Photography has brought the present and the past together, linking the old with the new to refine the need to remember historical content. Pictures serve the purpose of recording events, memories, and their significance relates to questions of province. Photography offered me the vantage point of sequencing imagery through my research whilst constructing a relationship between the momentum of nature and exploration of history and science through the medium of printing and the image.
