European Vacation Series This series of images were of sites connected to transit, be it the long stretch of empty carriageway, a hotel room, or banal urban locations. The scenes depicted are at once removals of occupation, reminders of a sojourn through a displaced urban landscape, through spaces that have no emotional investment. Incorporating a strategy that eliminates narrative traces allows for a sense of melancholia and loss to pervade the image. The dialogue between presence, absence, past and present is enacted through the vacant space that allows the viewer to invest multiple narratives and potential into the scenes.
