Exploring images and icons of high and low consumer cultures found throughout the world, I simultaneously explore the grand social schema as well as sub-cultural sexual and artistic realms, to present unpolished and raw distortions of stereotypes and standards of beauty imposed by the media.

Symbols, signifiers and codes are decorated, dismantled and recontextualised until their meaning is new and pure to create imaginary systems of transformation. Forms grow and assume new manifestations by extraction, investigation, and a marriage between craft and vision encouraging an exploration one might find in nature rather than the confines of a photographic frame.
