"Last of the Manchester Barrow Boys"
My interest lies in the loss of small businesses to the domination of the increasingly commercial world in which we live. Over the past few months I have spent time building an interesting and enjoyable relationship with what is left of the once famous, fruit and veg barrow boys in Manchester city centre. Now in their fifth generation of family ownership, I have learned much about their history and way of life.
Unexpectedly I have discovered something new about people and through this I feel I now know a little bit more about myself.
