My work has a strong relationship with the past, I am interested in figurative, iconic imagery influenced by historical work by impressionists such as Edouard Manet and Claude Monet. As gestures, posture and gaze remain important factors of modern painting and photography, they remain the pinical point of narrative through a relationship with each other and their surroundings.
By involving contemporary themes, I am re contextualizing the subjects to read as a modern piece of work yet employing certain themes and compositions of historical imagery in order to represent the past.
The exploration of grand spaces which have been projected in a new space include movement to represents an almost blueprint of the history of the space.
I am not interested in conveying the event to the viewer but the representation of the event.
