Traces of Us

The past has always been important to me, as it is to us all. Knowing where we are from and how we were raised can only help us to appreciate who we are.
My work has involved me reflecting on myself and past experiences. The further I find myself from home the stronger my connection becomes with home.
I wanted to capture the landscape of my youth simply because I had a relationship with it. Whilst on location in Wood End I observed a drastic change within the landscape, there were apartment blocks and entire streets absent. Some of the streets that did remain were completely void of inhabitants.
The overall transformation of the landscape forced me to change my concept from photographing my past because of my relationship with it. To photographing my past because it will soon be forgotten.
