Lee Brown

The nature of my work has shifted around over the last 3 years, as I find myself wanting to use different techniques and photograph varying subject matters. However, my work always seems to be rooted in a documentary style, sometimes completely natural and sometimes with a twist.
My work over the last 18 months has been dominated by two major projects. Firstly, I have been attempting to document era defining playground structures, built in the 80’s only to be left to rot in the elements. Reflecting aspirations and changes in the lives of today’s youth.
Secondly, progressing along the theme of memory distortion and identity, I have created a series of family portraits. Images taken from family events and situations, combined digitally, grouped into family units, distorted to remove individual identity and merged to create a single family portrait.
