Exploring ourselves, our personalities, perceptions, our reason for existence and accepting our own mortality becomes something which we all as humans contemplate everyday. Through photography, writing and music I have attempted to question and try to explain what makes me who I am. Our own opinions are formulated from experience and memory, each one has helped us to develop in a certain way. My work reflects my memories and influences from films to personal memories and even fictional ones. I see my images as an abstract self-portrait. The pictures represent me on a deeper level, beyond the immediate association of my physical appearance and perhaps provoke a common memory between myself and the viewer. As a photographer I am influenced by the work of Douglas Gordon and Joel-Peter Witkin.
